THE 2014 CHASE

Sea Mixer Takes the Crown

Sea Mixer, a 66′ Spencer owned by Ronald Davis of Orange Beach, Alabama, entered the final event with the Gulf Coast Triple Crown championship within reach.

Led by Captain Devin Potts, the family team battled through all five qualifying tournaments before arriving at the Blue Marlin Grand Championship with everything on the line.

A third-place finish at the Blue Marlin Grand Championship — highlighted by a 368.2-pound blue marlin caught by Chris Davis and another blue marlin released by Tyler Davis — gave Sea Mixer the points needed to secure the championship.

After two consecutive championships for Done Deal, the crown had a new home.
